I need to change my current power lifting workout. After 15 years of pushing iron my body has become very stiff and prone to muscle tweaks. Yesterday on the first rep of the morning in what I consider a warm up weight I tweaked my bicep.
I swallowed my pride and stopped knowing that if I push through the pain the tweak can turn from needing a few days to recover to one that takes weeks and months.
I have been listening to these podcasts interviewing Chris Sommer former US Olympic Team gymnastics coach. I finding it hard to ignore his insights. Personally I have not made the decision to follow his program but am giving it serious consideration. If you have mobility issues and issues with tweaking your muscles give a listen too.
